I Am Designed for a Purpose: "I can follow God" (Week 1)

Ready? Set? Let’s Go! Our new Theme is Let’s Go! We will teach the Simple Truth, “I Am Designed for a Purpose.” Kids will learn that God designed them to do good things for the kingdom. We get to share with kids that they can follow God, speak up for Jesus, love others, and grow in their faith. This first week, we will teach the story of Gideon from Judges 6–8. Gideon followed God when the odds were stacked against him. His example of courage and faithfulness is an incredible encouragement to all of us!

This week, play a fun game of follow-the-leader. But instead of “leading” simple motions, have the leader do something helpful like doing the dishes, cleaning a room, or picking up trash outside. Talk about how we can follow God and know that when we do, we point others to Him.
